School uniform
At Ley Top Primary School, we have a uniform policy that sets clear expectations of how children should be dressed. School uniform has 2 important purposes
- It fosters a sense of community; every child dressed the same means that no child feels singled out
- It prepares children for the requirements of following uniform rules at secondary school and in life
We make uniform as affordable as possible and limit the number of ‘branded’ items that are required. Our uniform consists of:
Girls should wear the following
Grey or black pinafore dress, skirt or trousers.
Plain white polo shirt.
Navy blue (Nursery to Year 5) or Purple (Year 6) jumper, sweatshirt or cardigan. It is optional to have the jumper, sweatshirt or cardigan branded.
Navy blue, black or grey tights or white or black socks.
In summer, a navy or blue gingham or striped dress may be worn. This is optional.
Sensible plain black shoes that fasten securely on their feet. For safety reasons no high heels or sling backs please. Trainers are acceptable but must be plain black. Wellies can be brought to school, but not to be worn all day.
