Pupil Premium funding

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is designed to address the challenges faced by pupils who may be experiencing social or economic disadvantages. Pupil Premium is additional funding given to state-funded schools in England to help them raise the attainment of disadvantaged children and close the gap between them and their peers. This funding is specifically targeted at improving outcomes for pupils who are eligible for free school meals, children in care, and children from service families. Ley Top Primary School receives this funding based on the number of eligible children we have, and it is intended to be used to provide targeted support and interventions to help children succeed.

Children who are entitled to means tested free school meals receive this support along with children who are in care (or have previously been in care) or are children of armed service personnel.

Check to see if your child is entitled to Pupil Premium Funding

To see if your child is entitled to Pupil Premium Funding please click here to apply for means tested free school meals. You should do this even if your child receives free school meals because they are in Reception, Year 1 or 2. If you believe your child may be entitled because they are, or have been, looked after or you are a member of the armed services please contact the office. If you would like support to check eligibility please make an appointment to speak to a member of the Pastoral Team.
