Nursery Admission Arrangements
Nursery provides 26 places in the morning and 26 in the afternoon. Some of these will be offered to the children eligible for 30 hours. Children will be admitted to Nursery as soon as a place is available from their third birthday.
To apply for a place in our Nursery, please call into the school office to collect a Nursery application form. The school will need to see the birth certificate of the child and this information will be recorded on the application form. Children’s names for Nursery places are taken as soon as possible.
Children will be admitted to Nursery having taken into account the following criteria (which is the same as the City of Bradford MDC’s admissions policy for Reception)
- Children who have an older brother or sister who lives at the same address and will still be at the same school at the time of admission.
- Children within our catchment area will have priority if the school is oversubscribed.
- Places will be filled from the waiting list in order of school receiving the completed application form.
- The need to fit in with the admission policies of the neighbouring schools.
We will endeavour to accommodate emergency placements requested by social services or other outside agencies if vacancies are available.
Mrs Hammond, our Assistant Head teacher- Early Years Lead arranges waiting lists, admissions to Nursery and home visits alongside Mrs Tate, our Parental Involvement Worker)
All children who are offered a place will receive a home visit from Mrs Tate and Mrs Hammond or the Nursery Teacher, when you will be asked to complete the admissions form.
Arrangements are also made for our new children to visit Nursery before they formally start and are invited to attend a stay and play session in Nursery.
As Nursery children are not statutory school age those who are on extended holidays or out of the country for some time will be taken off the register after the agreed return date.
Therefore this may result in reserved places being lost.
A place in Nursery does not guarantee a place in school.
Reception Admission Arrangements
All children in Bradford are admitted into Reception Class in the academic year in which they are five. All children begin school in September.
In the November before your child starts school, an application pack containing all the required information from Bradford Council will be released from Bradford Council. You then apply for your preferred Reception class online. This online form gives you the opportunity to name five schools you would like your child to attend, in preference order. The online application form needs to be completed and returned to the authority at the beginning of January. Parents will be informed about places during the April before the children start school.
If you do not receive a pack for Reception Admissions please visit Bradford Councils website following the link below;
